The farm has recently been bought and turned into a vineyard, but Maple View Ice Cream remains on the hill overlooking the old cow pastures and is a fixture in Chapel Hill/Hillsborough.
After getting some ice cream, go out the side door and find a spot to eat At one of the many picnic tables overlooking the vineyard. Along the woodland there are three benches, and you'll notice an opening in the woods next to the bench furthest from the ice cream shop. After finishing your ice cream, you can venture down the little trail, but not too far in you will see a big cedar tree with wispy, peely bark. At the base of the tree, around the back is a suspicious looking flat stone leaning against the base... And here you will find a red-topped glad sandwich container and a stamp commemorating your visit!
